I have been using natural soap for years now. The turning point was when I saw my son's major skin improvement after using natural soap. After becoming accustomed to natural soap, using anything else dries my skin out really badly.
Falling in love with natural soap and now having a natural product business, I'm diving into the reasons why natural soap is the way to go.
1. It isn't detergent.
Most of the commercially made soaps that we see in stores are made with a cocktail of toxic ingredients. Yes, the synthetic ingredients seem to have a great lather, but they are detergents in disguise. They aren't really soaps. According to the FDA, "Today there are very few true soaps on the market. Most body cleansers, both liquid and solid, are actually synthetic detergent products. Some of these detergent products are actually marketed as "soap" but are not true soap according to the regulatory definition of the word."
2. Natural Ingredients
Natural soaps contain nutrient rich ingredients. There is a lot of thought and research that goes into every ingredient that is put into Simora Home soaps. The soaps are made in small batches with ingredients found in nature like, goats milk, natural butters, honey, plant based oils, oats, etc. They also have a key ingredient, glycerin. Glycerin is a gentle emollient and humectant that draws moisture from the air to the skin creating a moisturizing protective layer. Most commercial soaps have the glycerin removed making them not as moisturizing.
3. Amazing skin
Our skin is the largest organ we have and we have to treat it well. Everyone wants healthy glowing skin. Natural soaps tend to be more soothing for all skin types, but especially for sensitive/irritated skin. I have had many customers tell me how the soap has changed their skin and they are forever grateful.
4. Great lather
In commercial soaps lather is made with synthetic additives like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Natural soaps do not need any assistance in doing its job. Natural soaps have a beautiful lather because it is a natural surfactant. The natural oils create a silky lather that also hydrate the skin.
5. Safe for the environment
The soap, the packaging, shipping and the lather that goes down the drain are all
environmentally safe. We should try to leave the Earth a better place. The chemicals in commercial soap washes down the drain and affect the wildlife and the water systems. With natural soaps, that is not an issue.
The level of care and attention that goes into making natural soap is unmatched. Natural soaps are environmentally safe, have amazing skin benefits, and are real soaps. Feel good about what you put on your skin.
